You may see some construction going on at the Dickerson Park Zoo.

A new boardwalk will soon be built for guests visiting the zoo,

The old boardwalk had to be closed after it was deemed unsafe.

The new boardwalk will have an elevated view of the black bear and swift fox areas and be close to a quarter of a mile long.

Officials plan to open the $600,000  boardwalk next year.
