Large hail, gusty winds, and heavy rains hit the Ozarks over the weekend and caused damage to several homes. Prime conditions now for scammers to come out.

Be alert for fly- by-night “inspectors” who want to assess your roof, siding or even windows that may have been damaged from the storms.

If you get a knock on the door about checking your roof, you may want to check out the businesses reputation online first, or even decline their offer, until you can get a reputable company to look at potential storm damage to your home.

Some of the scammers will actually get on your roof and could cause damage to it, in order to get money for “fixing” it.

Stay vigilant to protect your property, and when in doubt, don’t!
