“We have the drink”

When you hear Arby’s you might hear their famous tagline, “we have the meats.” Well, now they’re going to be serving up the drinks. They’ve announced a French fry flavored vodka. They do both have potatoes in common! One of the spirits will mimic the curly fries with hints of cayenne, paprika, onion, and garlic. Supplies will be in extremely limited quantities and the release date is November 18.

Pumpkins Past

If you’re ready to swap out your outdoor decor, there’s a proper way to do your punkin chunkin. Lots of haybales and pumpkins are sold for decoration and can’t go into storage like many reusable items. While it’s tempting to toss them in the trash, they need to be disposed of in the yard waste bin, says The Springfield Environmental Services.

If you need to find a place to dispose of your items properly, click here for when and where to drop off your pumpkins and other organic decorations.

Expect Delays as Sunshine Street Resurfacing has Begun

Construction is officially underway on Sunshine Street. It began this morning due to weather causing delays; it was originally scheduled to start a little more than ago.

Around 6 p.m. last night crews started to resurface parts of Sunshine Street, working all the way to Glenstone Avenue.

The City of Springfield says crews will work their way East, since efforts are finally underway.

At least one lane in each direction will be open at all times, however traffic delays should be expected. Drivers are asked to be sure to add some time to their commute or reroute.

Going forward, the city says weather will have a major impact on how the project progresses. Paving can only be done when it’s warmer than 45 degrees outside. Crews also have to make sure it won’t rain the next day after milling.

Construction crews will be working night and day on the project, but mostly at night to avoid traffic issues.

The resurfacing project is expected to be finished in December.
