The entire town of Aurora, Mo. is under a voluntary boil advisory issued by Liberty Utilities after crews fixed a broken pipe. The break was at a
commercial business which led parts of the town to lose water pressure. The leak has been fixed and pressure is back to normal. However,
do to the pressure drop, the Utility company is required to tests for bacteria. The results should be revealed within two- to three business days.
Liberty Utilities are recommending that customers:
- Boil water vigorously for three minutes before use for cooking or drinking.
- Let the water cool sufficiently before drinking.
- Disinfect food-contact surfaces (dishes) by immersing them for at least one minute in clean tap water containing one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon.
- Dispose of ice cubes and remake with water that has been boiled.
- Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled.
