A “boil your water order,” has been issued for Galena residents!

City officials encourage residents to either use bottled water to drink and to cook food or to boil your tap water before consuming.

Officials recommend bringing a pot of water to full rolling boil for one minute and let it cool before consuming or using it for cooking.

No official word has been released as to why the boil order has been issued or when the order will be lifted.
