Springfield-Branson National is getting new upgrades!
Worn carpet will soon be replaced by terrazzo. Terrazzo is flooring material consisting of chips of marble or granite set in concrete and polished to give a smooth surface.
Over 93,000 square feet of the current iconic “wave” carpet can no longer meet the terminals need.
Construction on the new flooring will begin in August and will take approximately 42 weeks.
The new flooring will continue with three architectural themes. Water, rock and green spaces.
Besides the new flooring, automated exit lanes will be added for a more seamless departure process for deplaning passengers.
Five Jet-Bridges will also be replaced. The new jet bridges will be more energy-efficient with air and electricity for passengers.
Expect more concrete to be poured for the Terminal Apron Expansion Project which should be completed in the next 12 months.
More Short-term parking will add 225 parking spaces by spring of 2026.
Passengers could experience some delays as work gets underway.
