This weekend, the North Fork Recreation Area was to begin camping season. However the severe weather in Southwest Missouri has played a part in either delaying or cancelling the opening.

Five to 10-inches of rain will fall across certain portions of  Missouri, making camping dangerous and impossible.

With the large amount of rain falling, authorities are anticipating several campgrounds to become flooded.

Camper safety is the utmost important.
