It’s allergy season and your eyes can pay the price. Itchy, dry, or watery eyes can get relief from certain eye drops. Heads Up! There is an eye drop recall.
A voluntary recall has been issued by AvKare.
The recall is over manufacturing concerns which could have patient risks if using the products.
Consumers are asked to stop using he recalled eye care products immediately.
The FDA lists the products recalled and the number of cases:
  • 13,872 cases of Artificial Tears Ophthalmic Solution — National Drug Code: 50268-043-15
  • 1,610 cases of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium Ophthalmic Gel 1% — National Drug Code: 50268-066-15
  • 32,876 cases of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium Ophthalmic Solution — National Drug Code: 50268-068-15
  • 13,104 cases of Lubricant Eye Drops Solution — National Drug Code: 50268-126-15
  • 14,333 cases of Polyvinyl Alcohol Ophthalmic Solution — National Drug Code: 50268-678-15

These items were shipped from May 26, 2023, until April 21.
