The first day of August is coming in with a heatwave. The cooler temps from over the weekend accompanied with rain is gone.          Humidity  and, steaming hot weather has returned,  at least until Thursday.

Cooling centers will again be open this week:

Jordan Valley Ice Park 635 E. Trafficway closes at 10:30

Chesterfield Family Center at 2511 W Republic Road closes at 9 pm

The Dan Kinney Family Center and at 2701 S. Black man Road closes at 9 pm

Doling Family Center 310 E. Talmage closes at 9 pm.

Pools in Springfield, open today are Grant Beach 1-6:30 pm and Meader 1-6:30

Marshfield. Mo.  Pool stays open late tonight.
