Around the Ozarks, we don’t just talk about helping our neighbors, we live it!

EVERY YEAR, when the holidays roll around, our community shows up in the biggest ways, making sure local kids feel seen, supported, and loved. If you’ve been wanting to give back this season but aren’t quite sure where to start, here are a few simple, meaningful ways to make a difference for families right here at home.

St. Jude Toy & Clothing Drive

105.1 The Bull and Smouse Brothers are teaming up once again to support the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, specifically the little fighters receiving care at the St. Jude affiliates in Springfield. St. Jude is looking for new toys and clothing items to help bring a little joy (and a little comfort!) to kids who could really use some holiday magic. Donations can be dropped off at any U.S. Bank location in Springfield.

The Salvation Army – Angel Tree Program

The Angel Tree has been a lifesaver for local families since 1979, and this year, the need is just as great!

There are two easy ways to help:

  • Shop an online wish list for a local child
  • Volunteer your time to help make Christmas morning brighter

Springfield families rely on this program for toys, clothing, and hope. If you’re wanting a simple way to make a big impact, Angel Tree is a perfect place to start.

Crosslines Community Outreach: The Toystore

Every year, the Crosslines Toystore helps local parents shop for brand-new toys for their kids… completely free. And every year, thousands of toys are needed to meet the demand.

They’re collecting new, unwrapped toys for kids from birth through age 16, plus books and handmade items. You can drop items off at their East Division location or shop through one of their online wish lists to make donating even easier. Learn more or shop the wish list by CLICKING HERE.

COMPACT Family Services – Christmas for Kids

For many kids and teens at COMPACT, this might be their first meaningful Christmas, and you can be part of making it special. This program gives children a chance to feel seen, loved, and celebrated during a season that can be especially hard for those walking through tough circumstances. From gifts to basic needs, your support goes farther than you know.

USPS Operation Santa

If you want something truly heartwarming (and sometimes tear-jerking), check out USPS Operation Santa. Every year, kids write letters to Santa, and you can “adopt” one.
You can filter by Missouri to help families right here in our area, or choose letters from anywhere in the country. You’ll see their wish lists and can purchase items online or ship your gifts from your local USPS location.

It’s a small act that makes a huge difference. Learn more by CLICKING HERE.

However You Give, It Matters!

Whether you’re dropping off a toy, shopping a wish list, signing up to volunteer, or “adopting” a Santa letter, every single act of kindness adds up. And that’s what makes the Ozarks so special,  we show up for each other! If you’re able, pick one of these programs and sprinkle a little extra joy this holiday season. You never know whose Christmas you’ll brighten! 🎅💛
