When a tragedy happens in law enforcement or the fire service, the Greene County 100 Club steps in to make sure the family never has to worry about things like the mortgage while they are in shock. Grace sat down with Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams and Board President Kim Roberts to talk about their mission to provide a checkโ€”no strings attachedโ€”within the first 24 hours of a line-of-duty death.
Kim knows the impact of this firsthand, as the club was at her door just 12 hours after she lost her husband, Deputy Aaron Roberts, in 2018. She shared how that financial stability gave her the empowerment to focus on her daughter and honor her husbandโ€™s legacy instead of stressing over the next utility bill. Chief Williams reminds us not to wait for a tragedy to show our support ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ. If you give, you’re helping protect the families of those who protect us every day.
