There is nothing better than sitting near the fireplace with a roaring fire on a cold winter’s day.
Is your fireplace winter ready?
Soot and creosote can build up inside your flue and could cause a house fire.
Here is what you need to do to prevent a flue fire:
Schedule a chimney inspection.
Clean your chimney when walls have an 1/8 inch layer of soot or creosote.
Install a chimney cap. A chimney cap around the outside opening of the flue will keep debris and critters out. Caps also prevent acidic rainwater from entering and corroding the chimney.
