Warmer weather is not only bringing out the flowers, grass, and trees, but add to the mix- Ticks!

The blood sucking little pests can be a problem for yourself and pets.

If you are planning on hiking, or going through the woods or high grass, arm yourself first by spraying an insect repellent on your body or clothes.

Wear protective clothing. Long sleeves, long pants tucked into socks, and shoes. Avoid going barefoot or wearing open-toe sandals/shoes.

Ticks can carry diseases, such as Lyme disease and transmit it to you. Therefore, if you are planning to be outdoors do a “tick check” after coming in and showering.

Common sites that ticks attach are behind knees, underarm, scalp, navel, groin, buttocks, back.

The most important thing is to get ticks off of you before they attach.
