The warm weather is bringing out the TICKS! These pesky little critters just want one thing, your blood!

The blood suckers are found in the woodland and hills of the Ozarks. They are sneaky little critters that will climb on your clothes looking for your skin and a quick bite. Most tick bites happen between April and September when there isn’t any frost.

If you are planning on hiking or going thru the woods here are some tips to avoid ticks:

Spray bug repellent that contains at least 20-30 percent DEET on your clothing.

Wear long pants and long sleeved shirts.

Some say using duck tape (sticky side up) around your pant leg will trap tics from crawling up.

Have someone check you for ticks after a hike.
