Crews broke ground on Friday for a new Animal Shelter in Springfield!

The new shelter will create a more safe and functional space for both caregivers and animals.

Expanded runs, an outdoor space and a centralized drain system are just some of the exciting new additions expected.

The new shelter is located at 3303 West Division Street, with completion expected in early 2026.

Voters approved this project in 2017 as part of the city’s property tax increase.
