Texting has become the preferred way to scam money out of people, and now scam texters are taking on the identity of  someone you know and trust, your pastor.

There have been several people who have been contacted by their “pastor”  who is asking for gift cards or money, when actually its a scammer.

Unfortunately, this is becoming more common.  The Better Business Bureau suggest if you get a text that is questionable, contact the person and ask to make sure it was them.  Also, look at where the text comes from. Many scam texts are coming from the area code of 573.
