The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield is hosting its 26th Annual Steak & Steak DinnerΒ on April 7th at University Plaza. NFL championΒ Rob GronkowskiΒ is the guest of honor to help support a mission that reaches nearly 6,000 local youth every year. Grace sat down with Amber Alcorn to talk about how this massive night fuels a “home away from home” for our community’s kids.
What is a “Steak & Steak” Dinner? π₯©Β The name is a fun nod to the event’s history. It originally started as “Steak & Burger,” where the club kids got the fancy steak while the adult donors ate burgers! Now, everyone enjoys a steak dinner as we celebrate the clubβs impact and hear from inspiring members like this yearβs “Youth of the Year,” Emilee.
More Than Just a MealΒ This event is a full-blown party. Attendees can jump into a football shot competition for a chance to compete with Gronk on stage, enter a diamond giveaway sponsored by Justice Jewelers, or bid in the live auction. Last year, this dinner raised overΒ $265,000Β to help shrink the club’s waitlist and fund essential programs in the arts, education, and health.
How to Join the Fun πΒ Tickets and table sponsorships are still available on the club’s website. For the ultimate fan experience, there is aΒ VIP upgradeΒ that includes a personal meet-and-greet and a professional photo with Rob Gronkowski. If you can’t make the dinner, you can still support their upcoming summer and back-to-school supply drives.
