Boil water in Sparta if you have a home south of State Highway 14 and State Highway PP.

A waterline has broken and crews are fixing the line.

Experts advise the following

• Boil water vigorously for three minutes before use. Use only boiled water for drinking, diluting fruit juices, and all other food preparations.
• Dispose of ice cubes, and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker. Remake ice cubes with boiled water.
• Disinfect dishes and other food-contact surfaces by immersing them for at least one minute in clean tap water containing one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
• Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled. However, children must be supervised while bathing to prevent ingesting the water. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may want to consult their physician before bathing.
