Meteorologists are saying the cold wave will invade the Ozarks on Saturday and get even colder from Sunday until early next week.

This could be the coldest plunge we have seen in the area since January 2024.

Temperatures will possibly remain below freezing starting Saturday through the next 5 days with overnight lows below zero.

Keep your home warmer with these tips!

Keep Radiators and Registers Unobstructed- move furniture away from the vents

Use Rugs-Rugs help block drafts and cold air from escaping through the floor

Use Foil– If you have a radiator attached to an external wall, use aluminum foil behind it. The foil’s reflective nature will prevent heat from disappearing through the wall

Change your filter-Clogged or dirty furnace filters are among the most common causes of heating issues.

Grab a hot water bottle-Place the filled up hot water bottle at the food of your bed and under your blankeTired of getting into a cold bed at night? Fill a hot water bottle (with hot water, of course!) and place it underneath your blanket at the foot of your bed.

Open curtains during the day for sunny warmth then close them tight at night.

After baking, I like to leave the oven door open to let the heat warm up the kitchen.

Plastic bubble wrap is a great extra layer of insulation you can put over windows to keep the heat in.

Turn the direction of your ceiling fan– make them spin clockwise during the colder months to keep the warm air pushed downward

Use towels or heavy blankets around doors or doggy doors.

Use a space heaters when possible.
