Authorities from Springfield City Utilities announced that starting today the  public access to Fellows and McDaniel Lakes will be closed due to flooding and the large amounts of debris found near the lakes due to the heavy rainfall from the weekend.

CU work crews will  keep both public access areas closed to the public until the debris is cleaned up and made safe.

Lake access will be closed until further notice.
