A major roadway will be closed for several weeks in Ozark due to asphalt damage from the flooding over the weekend.

Riverside Road and bridge will be shut down until further noticed due to crumbling and buckling asphalt.

The good news the rain has slowed and the flood waters are receding.

Officials with the Ozark Special Road District indicate that it could be at least 2 weeks before the road reopens to traffic.

Authorities are asking residents to find alternative routes until work has been completed on the damaged roadway.
