Watch for road crews installing sound walls on James River Freeway between National and Campbell. The walls are going up in hopes that it will cut down on road sound when a new widening project on James River begins.

The sound walls should help with quieter backyards for residents living near James River Freeway.

Road work for the widening project will start  between National and Campbell on James River as soon as materials are received.

The road widening project should be completed by November 2024.
