Starting Wednesday, May 3, Springfield Police will be actively giving tickets to those motorists who do not stop at pedestrian crosswalks when pedestrians are on site.

The Crosswalk Yield Check program was designed to help those on foot, safely cross streets, roads and intersections.

The next yield check is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 3, and will be at the intersection of Bennett Street as well as Delaware Avenue in the Delaware Neighborhood.

Stay alert, pay attention and watch for pedestrians.
