Josh Abbott and the boys got the band together attending school at Texas Tech. While finishing up his graduate degree he and his fraternity brothers Austin Davis, Neel Huey, and Andrew Hurt started cranking out songs. The band recorded their demo entitled “Taste” in 2007. Fiddler Preston Wait joined the band and they hit the road that next year. Their first full album “Scapegoat” debuted later in 2008. That record was the breakthrough record the band needed to do the music thing full-time. The Josh Abbott Band got another big boost in the spring of 2016 with the single “Wasn’t That Drunk”, featuring Carly Pearce. Josh and I talk about that more in this video interview.
