The Ozark days are getting shorter and the seasons are changing. This is the prime time for tarantulas to become very active in their habitat.
Tarantula’s will often cross roads looking for mates this time of you.
You will see them in the southern parts of the state, around Table Rock lake, near the rivers, and often in the Mark Twain Forest or local woods.
The tarantula’s do look intimidating but are usually shy and will avoid humans if possible.
If you encounter one of the hairy eight-legged arachnids, look but don’t touch. Please leave them in their natural habitat unharmed.
