The first Honor Flight of the year gets underway early this morning!
Veterans and guardians will make their way to Washington, D.C. then back to Springfield this afternoon. \
The flight will depart from Springfield-Branson National Airport with 81 Veterans and 81 guardians aboard the plane heading to Dulles International Airport.
Any veteran who lives in southwest Missouri or northwest Arkansas who received an honorable discharge from the military and served between 1940 and 1975 is eligible to go on an Honor Flight at no cost.
If you are interested in becoming a Guardian,(those who will be assigned to veterans) the cost is $600.
