I was Kansas City over the weekend hanging out at the National Fishing Expo! Over the 3 days, fishing enthusiast from across the Midwest descended on North KC to take in over 70,000 square feet of exhibit space featuring vendors representing nearly every kind of freshwater fishing. Along with the cool products and boats were some of industry’s best pros sharing their expertise and knowledge. I took in just a few of the over 60 seminars. Topics included everything from electronics, bait presentation, strategy, and more! Ava, Missouri’s own Rick Clunn, 4-time Bassmaster Classic Champion and former Bassmaster Angler Of the Year, shared some very interesting incites on how forward-facing sonar has changed what we thought we knew about fish behavior and their movements.

Onsite too were a couple guests on my Ozarks Outdoors podcast. Stained Water Bowfishing owner/operator Bryan Wilson reminds us that gigging season is in full effect and that now’s the time to book one of those “fill your freezer” trips! Also too, spring is coming soon and trout fishing trips on lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals are always a great time! Now’s the time to book a trip with Branson Trout Charters!

Also at The National Fishing Expo was Stockton Lake and Truman pro crappie guide and touring crappie tournament pro, Amos Livingston. He was working the Outlaw Crappie Fishing Rods booth. If you’re looking for the best crappie rod, at a great price, you can’t beat an Outlaw Crappie rod! Keep up with everything Team Livingston and book a winter guide trip by contacting them on their Facebook page. You can find both of these great guides sharing fishing information, tips, and more on my Ozarks Outdoors podcast!
