With all the recent rains that we have received in the Ozarks,  there isn’t any wonder that the mosquito population is exploding!

How can you lessen the chance of increasing the pesky insects in your area?

Get rid of mosquito’s breeding grounds.  Dump out water in baby pools, buckets, and watering cans around your home.

Plant some mosquito-repelling plants such as,  Citronella,  Bee Balm, Lemongrass, Basil, Catnip, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lavender, Garlic and even Sage.

Use mosquito insecticides. The best “spray on” repellents use ingredients from either DEET or Picardin. Both can work for long periods of time.

Install mosquito traps or Zappers. Both work well.

Here is a tip you may not have known, Coffee grounds will help to repeal mosquitos.  Sprinkle used coffee around your yard, especially where standing water could accumulate.
