Owning a home can change everything for a family. 🏠

In this episode of Around the Ozarks Community Corner, Grace sits down with Laura Winstead and Kristin McDaniel from Habitat for Humanity of Springfield to talk about how they’re helping local families build strength, stability, and long-term security through affordable homeownership.
Habitat doesn’t just build houses. Families go through financial education, credit-building classes, and “Tools for Life” training so they’re truly set up for success. For many, it means breaking a cycle of instability and creating a different future for their children.
We also talk about their signature gala, Tool Belts & Bow Ties, happening March 5th. This year’s event will raise funds to build a four-bedroom home for one specific local family. Guests will even walk through a life-size home frame set up inside the venue and sign the boards that will become part of that family’s house.
