With the help of Springfield’s Victory Mission, a new 160-bed men’s homeless shelter will be built.
The Victory Mission was approved of $11 million from the Missouri state budget to build the new shelter.
Construction for the new homeless shelter will actually begin, in a parking lot which is just north of the current shelter, near the corner of Commercial and Division.
Don’t look for demolition of the old facility to be soon. That building will not be torn down until the new shelter is built and operating.
