Heading to the DMV to get the new REAL ID?

Here is a list of items you must have to be issued a Real ID:
- Full legal name Drivers license
- Birthday (Birth certificate)
- Social security number
- Two forms of proof of their address at their “principal residence” (CU Bill, Voter registration)
- Lawful status
If you’re a married woman preparing to obtain a Real ID, here’s what you need to bring:
- Proof of Identity: A valid, unexpired U.S. passport or birth certificate.
- Marriage Certificate: To verify name changes, if applicable.
- Social Security Number: A document showing your SSN, like a Social Security card or tax document.
- Proof of Residency: Two documents with your current address, such as utility bills or bank statements.
- Application Form: Complete the Real ID application form, available online or at the DMV.
- Payment: A form of payment for the application fee, typically a check or credit card.
- Additional ID: If your name has changed multiple times, bring documents for each name change.
- Photograph: A recent passport-style photo, if not taken at the DMV.
