The Dickerson Park Zoo has released information that a wild, migratory Canada goose recently tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).
Currently NONE of the animals have been affected at the ZOO, however to ensure the safety of the birds and mammals, some birds will now be off exhibits as is the flamingo aviary, which is temporarily closed until further notice.
Strict sanitary guidelines and safety protocols are in place.
The Dickerson park Zoo will release information on social media when the aviary exhibits will be up and running, and the exhibits will be open to the public once again.
HPAI does not pose a high risk to human health.

As seen on the Dickerson Park Zoo FB page.
