Kacey Musgraves premieres video for new single “simple times”

Kacey Musgraves’ has released her latest video from her new album, "star-crossed."  The video for "simple times" is from Musgraves 'star-crossed: the film' which will be streamed exclusively via Paramount+.

The video takes place near the conclusion of the first of three segments of a 50-minute film, which is a collaboration between Musgraves, director Bardia Zeinali, and Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Matthew Libatique (A Star Is Born, Black Swan).  'star-crossed: the film' was shot over ten days in Los Angeles and features cameos from Emmy Award-winner Eugene Levy, Victoria Pedretti, singer-songwriter Princess Nokia, Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race winner), and comedian Megan Stalter.

Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney charged with DUI after car crash

Rascal Flatts’ lead guitarist Joe Don Rooney was recently charged with driving under the influence following an incident in Williamson County, TN, early on September 9, just outside of Rooney's home in Nashville. Rooney was arrested by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office at roughly 4 AM local time after crashing his vehicle into a tree near Fieldstone Park, TN. Rooney was booked into the Williamson County Jail around 7:20 AM local time and released on a $2,500 bond at about 10:17 AM local time.

Rascal Flatts' did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The group, founded in 1999 by Rooney, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus, announced last year that they were retiring; however, the COVID pandemic forced the group to cancel their planned farewell tour last year.

Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean release video for “If I Didn’t Love You”

The video for Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood’s new duet "If I Didn’t Love You" has arrived, directed by Shaun Silva and filmed at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The song was produced by Aldean’s longtime collaborator Michael Knox and written by his bandmates Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy alongside Lydia Vaughan and John Morgan.

"If I Didn’t Love You" is the lead single from Aldean’s forthcoming tenth studio album, and the single quickly became the highest debut of a solo male/female duet since the inception of the Billboard Hot Country charts. Aldean said in a press release: “Carrie was made for this song, but also for this video. I’m glad that she was down to get together to make it…it’s something that turned out a little outside of what I’d normally do, which is always cool.”

2021 CMA Nominations: Chris Stapleton, Eric Church and Gabby Barrett lead the list of nominees

Nominations for the 2021 CMA awards have been announced, with Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Gabby Barrett leading the list of nominees. Church — the reigning entertainer of the year — and Stapleton are both up for the same five awards: entertainer male vocalist, album, single and song of the year. Barrett is up for new artist, female vocalist, single and song of the year. (single and song awards are for "The Good Ones.") In addition, Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris and Chris Young all earned 3 nominations each.

CMA CEO Sarah Trahern in a press release: "This year, we have the opportunity to honor the superstars, new artists and emerging creators who are paving the way for Country Music. These nominees exemplify the creativity, passion and heart that make our Country Music community unlike any other genre. The 55th annual CMA Awards will air Wednesday, Nov. 10, live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

“Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler” tribute concert special to air September 23 on CBS

“Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler” — a live concert tribute to the country legend taped before his untimely passing — will be broadcast on CBS, Thursday, Sept. 23. It is also available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. The event features on-stage tributes, anecdotes, and performances in front of Rogers himself by artists including Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Idina Menzel, Lady A, Lionel Richie, Little Big Town, and Reba McEntire before he announced his retirement.

Rogers’ greatest hits, “The Gambler,” “Lady,” “She Believes in Me,” “Through the Years,” “Lucille,” “We’ve Got Tonight,” and more are all performed at the event, and in a special tribute, Parton takes the stage to share touching memories and anecdotes about Rogers, performing a series of songs that culminate in an emotional finale featuring Rogers himself.

Jimmie Allen to join ‘Dancing With the Stars’ for Season 30

Jimmie Allen will compete on Dancing With the Stars for its upcoming Season 30. Allen was one of the celebrities revealed during Good Morning America on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Allen joins a long list of country stars who have appeared on Dancing With the Stars, including Lauren Alaina and radio personality Bobby Bones.

Allen joins an all-star lineup that includes Olympian Suni Lee, YouTube star JoJo Siwa, reality star Christine Chiu, actor Melora Hardin, YouTuber Olivia Jade, actor Martin Kove, professional wrestler Mike “the Miz” Mizanin, Peloton's Cody Rigsby, actor Brian Austin Green, NBA star Iman Shumpert, Mel C from the Spice Girls, former Bachelor star Matt James, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore and talk show host Amanda Kloots.  Their professional partners will be revealed during the season premiere

Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will return as the judging panel for Season 30, while Tyra Banks will executive produce and host the show. The show is slated to premiere on ABC on Sept. 20.

CMT announces 2021 “Artists Of The Year” event live from Nashville on October 13th

CMT announced the 2021 edition of "Artists of the Year" will return to Nashville on Wednesday, October 13, airing live at 9 PM ET from Music City’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The event honors the top five country artists who collectively ruled the last 12 months in country music.

The 90-minute special will once again feature surprise musical pairings and special guests, Event honorees, additional performers, and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. HARDY announces details of upcoming ‘HIXTAPE Vol. 2’

Songwriter HARDY announced that 'HIXTAPE Vol. 2' will be arriving soon.  HixTape Vol. 1 was released in 2019 and featured 16 artists including Morgan Wallen, Mitchell Tenpenny, Keith Urban, Lauren Alaina, and many more.  Hardy's first number one as an artist, “One Beer" featuring Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson, appeared as part of HixTape Vol.1

HARDY explained on the Hixtape Instagram page that Hixtape Vol. 2 will feature 14 songs and 33 artists/bands, however, HARDY will only be singing on 6 of the tracks, while the other tracks will feature the “most talented and rowdiest people Nashville has to offer,” according to the video clip.  Hardy explained in the clip: “I know a lot of y’all have been asking when Hixtape No. 2 is coming out. Look Hixtape No. 1 was awesome, 10 songs, 16 of my good friends, I sang every single song. This time we’re going to do it a little bit different. Get this, 33 artists and bands, 14-songs. Now, I’m only singing on 6-songs but the rest of the songs are awesome and it’s people singing that are some of the most talented and rowdiest people Nashville has to offer and here’s what we’re going to do.”

HARDY added that he will be dropping a new song from the upcoming project every Friday for the next 14-weeks saying, “I’m telling you right now, you ain’t ready for this one!” The first track from the project is expected to be released this Friday, September 10.

Jordan Davis and wife Kristen welcome second child together, son Locklan Joseph

Jordan Davis, 33, and wife Kristen welcomed their second child together — a son named Locklan Joseph — on Saturday. Davis announced the news on Instagram, sharing photographs of himself holding his newborn son and also a solo shot of Locklan, captioning the post: "God is good… Locklan Joseph arrived yesterday, and he is perfect. Kristen is the toughest person I've ever met and she did such an amazing job getting him here. Momma and baby are both doing great and I am so blessed to get to be Locklan and Eloise's Dad."

The couple are already parents to 21-month-old daughter Eloise Larkin, who was born in November 2019. Jordan announced news of the second pregnancy back in May, posting a photo on Instagram of the couple holding Eloise and a sign reading It's a Boy and writing: "Add a few limbs to the family tree...add me to the list of artists putting out new music and having kids during quarantine".

Loretta Lynn to hold livestream Tennessee benefit concert for Tennessee featuring recruits Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan and more

Loretta Lynn is holding a livestream concert to benefit the victims of the deadly flooding in Tennessee. The 89-year-old Lynn shared plans for 'Loretta Lynn's Friends: Hometown Rising,' to be held from the Grand Ole Opry on September 13 at 7 PM, with proceeds from the event and live stream benefiting the United Way of Humphreys County. Among the country stars performing at the event will be Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Luke Bryan, and Luke Combs.

Lynn said on Instagram: "The flood that devastated our area has been awful, but love is stronger. I'm so grateful for my friends who are answering my call for us to all pitch in and help every way we can." Lynn’s ranch foreman Wayne Spears died after he was caught in the flood’s undertow. Via a press release, Lynn also said, “I am so honored that so many of our friends are coming together to show so much love for our neighbors and community after such a devastating loss. You know, we’ve all needed help from time-to-time, and that’s why when we can give back, we do.”
