Improvements for pedestrians at a couple of intersections in the Woodland Heights area, can cause delays beginning today.

Work crews can be expected at Grant Avenue and Chase Street, and Lyon Avenue and Chase Street.

Workers will install the Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB). The  RRFB’s are high-intensity LED strobe lights that are pedestrian activated. The lights enhance the visibility of the crosswalk to ensure safer pedestrian crossings. Curb extensions and crosswalks will also be installed.

Expect some minor traffic lane shifts and sidewalk closures during the sidewalk improvement project, which should be completed by the middle of June.
