The end of the growing season is getting ready to come to a close and that means farmers are in and out of the fields and on the roadways.

When you are travel in and around the Springfield metro- watch for these slow farm machines in your lane of traffic. Don’t try to pass. Chances are the tractors will turn into a field fairly soon to cut hay or harvest crops.

The best advice when you have a tractor in front of you is just “cool your wheels” and wait. Do not tailgate. Give these big machines plenty of room to maneuver in the roadway and don’t crowd them. Btw the max speed for a tractor is around 35-45 mph depending on the brand of tractor.

Slow down!
