I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with Kolby Cooper before the show Saturday and of course was back at The Midnight Rodeo for his performance that evening. I’ve conducted hundreds of artist interviews in my 30 years in radio. Some you just know “this person’s special.” Kolby Cooper is one of those “persons.” He’s just 24 years old and has already accomplished more than most persons twice his age.

The show was a blast! Kolby performed most of the songs off his album “Boy From Anderson Country To The Moon” and surprised the audience with a couple covers. We were sitting at a table in the back when I turned the group and asked “Is that a Taylor Swift song?” Not only was a Swiftly track on the set list, shortly after he broke into a Kelly Clarkson song!

Check out the video below. Sure, it was recorded before the show but in it we talk about his music, his family, and of course football! Kolby was an excellent linemen during his high school days in Bradford, Texas. Turns out he grew up just miles away from where Patrick Mahomes played his high school ball in Whitehouse. Even though Kolby’s a Cowboys fan, he let’s us know who he believes is really the GOAT!

More great shows are on the Midnight Rodeo calendar. Trey Lewis is in town Thursday, April 4th. A week later, don’t miss The Cadillac Three on Thursday, April 11th. Of course, you’ll have your chance to win your way onto the 105.1 The Bull guest list for both of these shows!
