It won’t be long before the snow flies and the temperatures drop, winter is on the way.
Oacac (Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation) is now helping families who need some energy assistance during the winter months.
LIHEAP is a low income heating energy assistance program that helps those in need in Barry, Christian Dade, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney and Webster counties.
Once you apply, letters will be sent out to those homes which are accepted to the program for energy assistance on utility bills. If you are denied you can re-submit your application for possibly assistance later.
Authorities are asking that you be patient and pay your bills until you are accepted in the help program.
