Great news! The new Pickerel Creek bridge on westbound I-44 is now open!

Contractor crews shut down the I-44 bridge over Pickerel Creek,  just west of Springfield  back in May.

When traveling over the new bridge you will notice new barrier walls and guardrails!

You can expect nighttime lane closures until work crews put the finishing touches on the bridge project.

More bridges will be replaced in the upcoming months in southwest Missouri.

Traveling delays will be found on several other bridges within 15 miles of 1-44 in the Southwest District. At this time, 15 bridges will be replaced  while 9 will undergo rehabilitation work.
