Springfield’s traffic engineers are keeping up with holiday traffic.  The signal lights will be timed out for heavy traffic times.

Battlefield, Glenstone, Campbell and Sunshine will see heavier traffic as shoppers head into Academy Sports, Bass Pro, Target, Battlefield Mall and other strip center shops.

Traffic light crews are monitoring these areas and are changing the timing of signal lights to accommodate the heavier traffic flow.

The signal lights will continued to be monitored through Christmas.

Wait time can be expected as crews are adjusting longer red lights  as well as longer green lights to accommodate all the traffic.
