Get ready shoppers, its a tax-free weekend! Shop until you drop August 5-7, IF you can find a county that is participating, you will be able to save big money on school supplies and clothing.
Some of the tax free items include computers, clothes, calculators, software, textbooks, paper, writing instruments, crayons, art supplies, rulers, book bags backpacks, plus chalk, maps, globes and paper.
What is NOT included in the tax-free weekend : CD players, headphones, sporting equipment, phones, copiers, furniture, jewelry and handbags and accessories.
Many counties and cities in Missouri have opt out of the tax-free weekend. Those counties and cities will still charge county or city taxes on the above items. However, if you purchase approved school supplies from these counties and cities, state and federal tax will still be withheld.
These counties will NOT be participating in the tax free weekend.
