I made a road trip down to Oklahoma City on Friday evening for one reason, to get to know more about Them Dirty Roses. We got acquainted at The Born & Raised Festival last September. You can check out that interview by clicking HERE. As a life-long fan of southern rock greats like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers, it was cool to hear these young guys talk about how much they loved that music too and how it influenced them to chase their own rock-n-roll dreams.

I had the privilege to spend a few minutes hanging out in the Green Room before their performance at the Beer City Music Hall. We started off our conversation like all interviews do, by shot-gunning a beer! If you watched the earlier interview, you’ll get the reference! We talked about the new album and the new single, “Candle In The Dark .” I imagined our time in the green room wasn’t much different than hanging out with a young Skynyrd before one of their earlier shows. Without the fist fights and broken bottles of course! Later that evening, as we stood in the crowd watching the show, I mentioned something about “we should be hearing an Allman Brothers song or something soon.” And sure enough, moments later, they tore into “Whipping Post.”

Watch the video and make sure you take a few minutes and check out their music. These guys from Alabama reflect their southern rock roots in everything they say and do, and of course, its in the DNA of their music. As I mentioned in my previous post about the band, southern rock will never die as long as guys like Them Dirty Roses are around…and we’re all thankful for that.
