Congratulations to 5 local teachers, who are the finalist for Springfield Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year! The teachers come from Central High School (2), Gray Elementary, Pipkin Middle School and Sequiota Elementary.
The winner will be named April 17 at the Celebrate SPS event hosted by the Foundation for Springfield Public School. The winner then will go on to compete in the Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year. That winner will then advance to the Missouri Teacher of the Year competition.

- Tiffany Lynch, special education teacher, Pipkin Middle School
- Sam Shelton, shop and engineering teacher, Central High School
The Celebrate SPS event starts at 5:30 p.m. April 17 at the Oasis Convention Centre, 2550 N. Glenstone Ave.
