The Ozark days continue to lose daylight as we near the official start of winter, prompting a suggestion from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Patrol’s safety suggestions are geared to those who walk, jog or run.  Please wear reflective clothing or carry a flashlight for better sight visibility for drivers especially in the early morning or early evening time periods.   Do run or walk with a friend. There is safety in numbers.

Drivers, stay attentive while driving through neighborhoods at dawn or dusk and lower the speed of your vehicle.

Winter officially arrives on December 21, 2023.  After that date, sunlight will start to increase on a daily basis until the first day of summer in June.
