After the holidays, where do you take that live Christmas tree that is shedding needles left and right?

After you take off the ornaments, tinsel and lights, you can recycle it!  There are several places around the area that will dispose of that tree properly and help the environment too! Live Christmas trees are NOT accepted at the Missouri Landfill.

Bass Pro Shops: Across the street from the main store entrance, trees will be accepted to be used to provide structure and habitat for fish at Table Rock Lake.- trees are accepted Dec. 26-29 from 12-6 p.m. at 1938 S. Campbell Ave.  A monetary donation of $10 goes to the Ozark Trails Council Boys Scouts Wa-Sha-She Lodge Order of the Arrow.

Hansen’s Greenwaste:  at 3341 S. Farm Road 107 in Brookline will take those live Christmas trees From December 17- Feb. 2 for a fee of $5.00

Yardwaste Recycling Center: Live trees, as well as wreaths, garlands and other organic decorations, can be recycled to be ground into wood chip mulch at no charge at the Springfield Yardwaste Recycling Center Dec. 26-Feb. 3. Facility is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 3790 S. Farm Road 199, Brookline.
