Heads up if you drive a Ford vehicle.  Ford is now recalling nearly 43,000 SUV’s because gas can leak from the fuel injectors to increase the risk of fire.

Documents were filed with the U.S. safety regulators  indicating that the fuel injectors can crack and gasoline or vapor can accumulate near the ignition sources possibly starting fires.

The recall affects some Bronco Sport SUVs from 2022 and 2023, and also affects some Escape SUVs from 2022. The Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs all have 1.5-liter engines.

Ford dealers can update the engine control software so that it can include fuel injector leak detection, and will also install a drain tube for free.

If you drive one of the affected vehicles, you will be notified about the recall by letter.
